“Bridges to Life”
The pathway will guide individuals through the services of EBMC and lead to connecting them to the appropriate agencies, businesses, and area churches that can be a bridge to the resources that can connect them to real, sustainable change.
“Bridge to Hope” is the relief phase. EBMC will minister to those who find themselves in a crisis, such as a loss of income, medical emergency, or loss of housing. Relief such as food, clothing and financial assistance will help meet this immediate crisis.
“Bridge to Stability” is the rehabilitation phase. EBMC will come alongside individuals to help them achieve stability after their crisis and immediate needs have been met . In this phase, individuals will enter into our exchange program, where they can earn “bridge credits” to exchange for materials they might still need until they can secure employment or permanent housing. This exchange model helps meet their needs by providing a sense of accountability and pride of accomplishment in the process.
“Bridge to Opportunity” is the developmental phase. In this phase, individuals will have been connected to the EBMC resources and to partner agencies and churches that have provided means for the individuals to take steps toward their own independence. Whether they have secured employment , returned to stable housing, or become a part of a community of relationships in their neighborhoods, they have shifted from transactional resource models to transformational “Bridge to Life” change.
As a reminder, EBMC has served the Etowah County Community for over 30 years. We are a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit and are listed as a Community Ministry Partner with the United Way through the 2-1-1 Assistance Program. Todd Hindsman is the current President of the EBMC Board of Directors.
